I'm Nebiyou, a senior Salesforce engineer based in Greater Boston, MA. I design, build and integrate Salesforce platforms end to end: new orgs from a blank slate, Lightning Web Components, event-driven integrations and the CI/CD that keeps it all shipping.

01About

Every great org starts as a point of light.

I started writing software in Addis Ababa in 2002, teaching programming and building systems for local businesses, and found Salesforce in 2009. Since then I have shipped on every generation of the platform: Classic, Lightning, Aura and now LWC.

I am usually the person teams call for the hard parts: designing an org from scratch, untangling integrations with ERPs and external systems, or putting the frameworks and pipelines in place so other developers can move fast without breaking things.

    Lead Salesforce Developer

    EF Education First · Cambridge, MA

    EF runs language, travel and academic programs for students from middle school to business school, across many business units.

    • Designed and implemented multiple brand-new Salesforce orgs for different business units.
    • Built CI/CD for Salesforce with SFDX, CircleCI and GitHub Actions.
    • Introduced shared trigger, testing, batch and asynchronous frameworks as team-wide best practice.
    • Upgraded the customer community from Aura components to Lightning Web Components.
    • Delivered event-driven integrations using Change Data Capture, AWS and StreamSets, and connected Iterable through REST and webhooks.

    Shorelight partners with US universities to bring international students from around the world to study in America.

    • Key developer on the Customer and Partner portals, integrated with Informatica, FolderWave and messaging services.
    • Led the move from Salesforce Classic to Lightning, rebuilding much of the functionality from scratch.
    • Configured AppExchange apps including FormAssembly, FedEx and SMS Magic.
    • Sole on-site developer and the go-to person for every development and design decision.
